PFF gave him the same OFF grade as Cam Ward this week FYI

Ward threw for 100 yards 1TD/1INT

Y'all gotta stop giving PFF attention in regards to QB evaluation.

You could remove the back half of that sentence and just say stop giving PFF attention

I’m greiving. I used to really like there stuff. Film based review is always my favorite.

It started going down last year but was still ok-ish. This year it’s downright horrible

5. u/GamingTatertot · 2026-10-21 16:35 UTC

Didn’t they get bought by PE or have some major change happen in the last couple years too?

6. u/Further_Beyond · 2026-10-21 16:37 UTC

Yes PE acquired it and most of their consumer content is AI. Grades are still done by people, but it’s clear the quality has diminished.

I’d imagine they’re just removing the reviews of grades by higher ups that used to be in place because PE rule 1 is gut gut gut. So we’re seeing junior shit now

this sub needs to ban all PFF posts.

Y'all gotta stop giving PFF attention period

I'm genuinely more annoyed by people complaining about PFF than PFF itself when it has clearly been demonstrated to have little value

10. u/TUN_Binary · 2026-10-21 16:26 UTC

I honestly think that if I surreptitiously took over PFF and started putting out completely random grades for players after the games, I could get away with it for a while before people started to notice.

It’s all snake oil. Explain how Mel Kiper is still in a job if he is in a business that values accurate predictions. All of these people are selling magic beans

12. u/bonafacio97 · 2026-10-21 16:45 UTC

Mel Kiper you say?

13. u/Dull_Job_6372 · 2026-10-21 17:15 UTC

Didn’t he get every first round pick wrong one year as well?

14. u/Brotonio · 2026-10-21 16:28 UTC

Nah they'd notice pretty easily. You'd be putting out actually understandable grades.

I swear they are doing it on purpose just to rage bait Bears fans. I plead to my fellow Bears fans, ignore it

The problem is in the conversion to the 1-100 scale.

With the way it works, from explained by Sam who started the company. Is the plays get a .5 + or - up to like 1.5. So if you have a couple point swings in one way or another it can change the 100 score by like 15-20pts and you end up with these stupid scores.

They also count shit like interceptions, even if it was waved off from a flag if they determine the QB didn’t see the flag and it wasent a free play, etc

They also count shit like interceptions, even if it was waved off from a flag if they determine the QB didn’t see the flag and it wasent a free play, etc

See, that's the sort of thing that, theoretically, you'd actually like to see. Sure, the guy didn't get punished for it, but it was a bad decision, so it should lower his grade.

But then it's just so subjective. How do you know if he saw the flag or not? And did the interception happen because of a bad route or a bad throw? You just can't know unless you know that team's playbook and what those players' responsibilities are.

18. u/Shutch_1075 · 2026-10-21 18:38 UTC

Or maybe the interception / wrong decision was influenced by the effect of the flag that erased the interception. The play doesn’t count for a reason.

If you legit just tried to do it as an unbiased subjective "eye test" rather than the dumbass system they use, your rating would probably be better.

PFF is the most garbage sports analytics platform of all time.

It was already highly questionable before it was sold off or whatever happened. Now it’s just complete nonsense.
