Sam LaPorta on not receiving an extension from the Lions: “I break my fucking back for this team. And then I’m going out there this year and I'm ballin, and maybe they're just not showing the love. In three months if I don’t get to play for the Lions anymore. I'll get paid elsewhere."

might be the most blunt, straightforward quote i've ever seen about a contract, damn

This is like in Madden 06 in Franchise mode where they would have a player give a fake quote that would be the headline of the newspaper for that week of the season.

Or in madden 06 superstar mode where you can select which quote you'll give, and this is the audacious option that gets you cut
Damn I miss that game, goat version of madden don't at me

06 was amazing for Madden. The mini training camp games were the best

Played the fuck out of madden 06, even after other games came out, idk why 06 was just perfection to me

Bring back the vision cone!

I remember Peyton Manning’s vision cone covering the whole field and then some dude like JP Losman’s would be a little sliver, basically impossible to play with. Shit was great

I still think Mike McMahon could of been a good QB because Madden said he was a project player haha

I played it every football season til my gamecube gave up the fight in like 2017. I think I was on season 43 of franchise mode with MVP Jay Cutler IV.

This is the real life version of Jason Mendoza playing with Blake Bortles in franchise mode. Respect.

Madden had a great run from like 04-08 on PS2/OG Xbox. Downhill ever since

Sports games peaked during PS2
Online gaming ruined sports games

That and the card modes that get way more attention than the franchise or career modes I prefer, because the card shit can be monetized

ultimate team was great in the very beginning. it appealed to the fantasy gm in a fun way but then it turned into a gambling shit show of pay to win slop with never ending marketing to buy their currency or their event currency.

Probably because NFL 2k5 forced them to put out a better product, and there was just a holdover effect for a few seasons before they realized they didn't need to try as hard when they had exclusive NFL rights.

2K was the best. The first person football mode was super fun with Vick and they had better graphics than madden too.

Same shit as BF and COD.
Too many people cared about graphics over gameplay for too long.
Crysis was an okay game and all, but it was way over hyped because "the graphics"

I'm not sure how anyone could disagree that Madden peaked in the 00s. On field gameplay and animations are pretty much unchanged, and they've stripped back the career mode so much.

Also the ability to take any NFL team and completely change their name, logo and color scheme. The NY Jets? Oh you mean the New Jersey Roadkills! They wear pink and puke green uniforms and their logo is a car.

To be pedantic, I’d say ‘07 actually. It was everything ‘06 had with some slight (and I mean SLIGHT) improvements.
